Here is the card that I created:
I'm calling this card "the runaway card," because I seemed to have been a little carried away with all the embellishments! 😂😂😂 I just couldn't help it! I finally just had to say to myself, "Self, this is ridiculous! You need to stop!"
I started with this Glittery and Sparkling digital stamp from The Paper Shelter. I colored her with my Prismacolor Colored Pencils on Canson Mi-Teintes paper, printed with my Canon printer. She was such a joy to color, and I think she's beautiful! Then, this is when I think I started to get carried away...
First, I colored the area behind the girl with a Lilac Prismacolor Colored Pencil and applied a little Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink around the outside edges of the circle with an ink blending tool. These beautiful shades of purple were then so prominent that I thought I should also incorporate them into others aspects of the cards to tie it all together.
So, since the Glittery and Sparkling girl has these adorable star tattoos, I decided to change the five circle elements in the sketch into stars. And then I went out of control with the stars! I heat embossed stars on the background with Ranger White Embossing Powder, and then inked over it with bright yellow ink. I added Iridescent Star Crystals by Studio Katia, Wilted Violet and Lilac stars, and stars die cut from glitter paper. I even went so far as to make my own glitter paper with Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste over yellow cardstock!
Seriously, this card is out of control! But all in all, I think for a digital stamp named Glittery and Sparkling, this card suits her pretty well! I'm thinking this would be a great card for one of my young nieces.
I'm so glad you stopped by, and I hope you'll enter in this week's challenge! If you need help/ideas, feel free to message me on Instagram or Facebook. Good luck!
