Stamp Highlighting Beautiful Flowers with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a card I made using a special technique called stamp highlighting. I was inspired by Kelly Latveola - an exceptionally talented cardmaker! I saw her do this technique in the video What Would Kelly Make Series: Stamp Highlighting on the Simon Says Stamp YouTube channel. This idea has been sitting in my back pocket for some time, and I finally garnered up the courage to try it!

I used the Beautiful Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp - this is one of those stamp sets I go back to time and again because it really is just so beautiful, and there's so much you can do with it. For this card, I am highlighting an inner rectangle area with colorful reds and pinks and juxtaposing it against subdued grays on an outside frame.

It can be really scary trying something new. And it can be even scarier sharing that experience with others. But it is through practice that we grow and practicing anything naturally comes with its share of making mistakes.

Yes, it's difficult to make mistakes so in addition to the new stamping and art techniques I practice, I am also practicing being more kind to myself during the process. The discomfort that comes along with making mistakes does not need to be compounded with unhelpful self-criticism. Instead, I practicing appreciating that I had the courage to try something new and to see it through to the end. And this doesn't always come easily for me, but I guess that's why I call it a practice.

You can watch the process video below or in full HD on my YouTube Channel:
