Pantone Color of the Year 2019: Living Coral

Inspired by this year's Pantone Color of the Year, I created this card with it in mind. Coral is such an interesting color to me. Is it pink? Is it orange? It's both! This is the card I created using the Dainty Sprig stamp and die set from Altenew for Simon Says Stamp.

Altenew produces some of the most gorgeous floral stamps I've ever seen! Many of these stamps are designed to be layered, and it's the layering that creates these stunning stamped flower images.

Because this stamp set includes the outline image, you could always just color the flowers with almost any medium. But, if you love stamping (like me!), then a set like this is right up your alley.

I used the Mini MISTI stamping tool to line up the layering images; however, using stamping blocks would work just as well. One of the best things about a stamp set like this is that it's suited perfectly for offset stamping - a technique in which layered images are purposefully designed not to be lined up right on top of one another. So there's no worry about the images being a little "off."

To create the background for this card, I used the Modern Rose Blooms background stamp from Simon Says Stamp. This stamp reminds me of elegant rose wallpaper, and I used the color Abandoned Coral Distress Ink.

I also wanted a coordinating border so I cut the Sunrise Border die by Simon Says Stamp from a piece of textured card stock after I had inked it up in the Abandoned Coral ink with an ink blending tool. Last, I had to (of course!) add some sequins with a drop of  Nuvo Crystal drops over top!
