Out of this World Lawn Fawn Slider card - Galaxy Technique

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well! I am so in love with this Lawn Fawn slider card I made for one of my cousin's little boys (he's my first cousin once removed - I actually looked it up!). I used the Out of this World stamp and die set by Lawn Fawn, and I'm thrilled with how it came out, particularly because I paired it with Lawn Fawn's Party Animal stamp and die set to make it a real party!

I stamped the characters in Memento Tuxedo Black ink because it is a Copic-safe ink so it won't run or bleed when I color them with Copic markers. The elements are pretty small so I didn't worry too much about the shading. I just tried to stick with super bright colors because the Lawn Fawn characters are just so cute and cheery that they deserve a bright color scheme!

The background (oh the background!) - so simple and totally gorgeous! Remember the color scheme I wanted to use from THIS previous video?! I used the same color combo for this card, but instead of watercoloring it, I just applied the colors randomly onto a piece of card stock with an ink blending tool.

Then I applied Black Soot Distress Ink over (yes, OVER!) the colors. It's a little scary at first because you don't want to cover up your beautiful colors, but it's so worth it. Apply heavy pressure to the areas you want darker and lighten up the pressure for the areas you want lighter. But, if one area gets a little too dark though, you can apply the color back over it again to brighten it back up.

And then you splatter! This Daler Rowney Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic I used is the perfect consistency for splattering, but if you're using a thicker arcylic paint, then just mix it with a little water. I used the pearlescent color Silver Pearl and it looks so striking over the black - like a million twinkling stars!

To create a slider card, die cut or freehand cut a channel on your background. Cut a small cardstock circle that is slightly wider than the channel. To attach the character to the slider background, I use the My Favorite Things Slider Elements, but I think perhaps a small bead would work too.

You watch the card process video below or in full HD on my YouTube channel!

Thank you for stopping by! If you have a moment, would you consider commenting on my post? I'd love your feedback about what kind of cards/techniques you'd like to see in future posts. As always, I am so grateful for your support. Have a good week everybody!
