Sketch Saturday Challenge # 553 with All Dressed Up

Welcome to another Sketch Saturday Challenge! What will you create using this week's sketch as inspiration?

Here is the card that I created using the Play Day digital stamp by All Dressed Up:

Sketch Saturday Challenge #553

This week's sponsor is All Dressed Up, and they are offering a fabulous prize to the winner. To play along in the challenge, take a picture of your project, and link to it on THIS week's Challenge blog post using the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the post.

You have until Friday, March 8th at 7pm (United Kingdom time) to enter. For complete details, please read the Challenge Rules on the Sketch Saturday blog. Good luck and have fun creating!

This was one of those cards that just came together so easily! Don't you just love when that happens?  My creative juices must have really been flowin'! Needless to say, I am quite proud of this card; I think it's super cute and silly, and that's just the kind of gal I am!

The stars were stamped and cut out with the Altenew Halftone Stars stamp and die set. I stamped them in black ink, stamping several times actually, with my mini MISTI because I wanted them to be super dark and crisp.

The Play Day digi stamp I used by All Dressed Up was printed on Canson Mixed Media paper and I colored her with my Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Here are the colors I used:

Pinks: Pink, Blush Pink, Deco Pink
Hair: Golden Rod, Gingerroot, & Cream
Face: Burnt Ochre, Peach, and Beige
Puppy: Chocolate, Sienna Brown, Burnt Ochre, & Beige
Jacket: 70%, 50%, & 30% Cool Grey
Glasses: Black, 70%, 50%, 30% & 20% Cool Grey
Boots: Black & 70% Cool Grey

To create the background I stamped the Reverse Polka background stamp by Simon Says Stamp in Pink Pirouette Stampin' Up! ink (retired color). I cut it out with the Wonky Rectangles Die and then backed it with a scalloped rectangle cut from the Honey Bee Stamps Scallop A2 die set. The adhesive I used was the Tombow Mono Permanent Adhesive tape runner (no Scor tape on this card! Can you believe it?!)

The sentiment comes from the Emphatic stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. Love this set and the others created by the incredible and incredibly funny Cathy Zielske. To create the sentiment strips, I prepped a black piece of card stock with EK Success Powder Tool, then stamped them in Versamark embossing ink. Then, I applied Hero Arts White Embossing powder and heat set it. Lastly, I used my Fiskars Paper Trimmer to cut them into small strips.

I popped up the star and sentiment strips with fun foam and foam tape, respectively. Then, sprinkled around a few jewels from the Ice Cube mix by Little Things by Lucy's Cards. I adhered them to my card with Ranger Multi Medium Matte. It probably would have been easier to apply this card panel to the Neenah A2 sized card base BEFORE I added all the embellishments, but I forgot so I did it after everything was dry. I'm just careful not to mess anything up, and it was fine.

So that was the finished card, until I accidentally got a black splatter on it from another card I was working on. 😢😢😢 So to cover it up I just cut two more stars (the two smaller ones) and applied them to the card to cover it up. Crisis averted!

So thank you all so much for stopping by my blog! Are you going to create something using this week's sketch? We love seeing your work! Have a wonderful weekend, and until next time my friends!
