Good Luck Chloe for Tiddly Inks

Hey everyone! I hope you're having a great week! Today I'm sharing a card using the Good Luck Chloe digital stamp by Tiddly Inks. I think she is just so cute and cheery, and hopefully will bring you all some very good luck on St. Patrick's Day!

I colored Chloe with my Prismacolor colored pencils. Here are the colors I used to color her in:

Clovers: Dark Green, Kelly Green, Sap Green Light, Pale Sage, & White
Hair: Burnt Ochre, Mineral Orange, Yellowed Orange, & White
Skin: Burnt Ochre, Peach, Light Peach, Eggshell, & White
Clothing (green areas): same colors as clovers
Clothing (white areas): 10% Cool Grey & White

From the start, I had this color combo of pink and green in my head, so I just knew I had to work a little pink into this card. I used the largest die from the Scallop A2 die set by Honey Bee Stamps to cut a scalloped rectangle from pink card stock - and I think it's just the right amount of pink! Since, after all, this is a St. Paddy's Day card, the green was easy to incorporate, plus I wanted the green to be more prominent than the pink so I just this tiny pop of pink peeking out from the back is perfect!

For the sentiment, I combined the Big Friend wafer die set and a sentiment from the Thank You Flowers stamp set both by Simon Says Stamp. The Big Friend die set comes with 2 dies, so I cut the script from gold card stock and layered it onto the shadow die cut from white card stock. Then, I cut the shadow die again but with fun foam so that I could pop the whole word up off the card.

I then took the sentiment phrase and stamped it in black ink and heat set it with clear Hero Arts embossing powder. Why didn't I stamp it with Versamark and heat set it with black embossing powder? Well, because this sentiment stamp is soooo tiny, so I wanted to make sure that it would be as clear as possible to read. Stamping in black ink gives me a very clear, crisp sentiment and the clear embossing powder just gives that "raised" and glossy finish to it.

For the embellishments, I just added some vertical banners cut from various green card stock scraps which I adhered down with Tombow Mono adhesive permanent tape runner. The white background has some beautiful texture to it thanks to the Lace Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing folder by Stampin' Up!. These embossing folders create pretty deep impressions which gives the card stock a very bold texture. This one in particular is an intricate lace design, and I think it adds a nice overall texture to the card without being too distracting.

I also wound some thin gold thread 'round and 'round and taped the ends down right in the center of the card with iCraft purple tape. This way I could fiddle around with the placement of the thread to make it look just the way I wanted. I knew Chloe would go right on top so that the purple tape wouldn't show up on the completed card.

After coloring, I fussy cut Chloe out with my Cutter Bee scissors. I wanted to pop her off the card so I applied copious amounts of foam tape, cutting bits and little strips to get really good coverage. Then, I stuck her down and randomly glued down some green enamel hearts with Ranger Multi Medium.

And that's the finished card! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog! I love hearing from you, so if you liked today's card, I'd love for you to leave a comment. Have a great day!
