Digital stamps and the Silhouette Cameo 3 - A coffee card from Graciellie Design

So I've been having a lot of fun playing around with digital stamps. (Check out this blog post or this one to see previous projects I've made with digital stamps!) I decided to step things up a notch by using a digital stamp with the Print & Cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo 3. I'm so glad I tried this out! It was fast and easy and gave me the perfect cut to make this super, yummy, delicious coffee card!

For this card, I used the Tea Cut Floret image from the Hello Sunshine Digital Stamp Set by Graciellie Design. She has lots of digital stamps, including more coffee and beverage stamps and more Tea Cut Floret images that are super, super, super cute! You gotta check 'em out!

Using the Print & Cut feature with the Silhouette Cameo 3 does exactly what you'd expect - with awesome results! I was so impressed with how clean the cut was and how fast it did it. I'm no stranger to fussy-cutting, but with my Silhouette and digistamps, I didn't have to!

I used Prima Watercolor Confections watercolors and a water brush pen to color the image. I used several colors from the Shimmering Lights and Classics collections. For the red in the flower, I used the color Permanent Red Deep by Van Gogh watercolor. It's such a rich, beautiful red that I thought was the perfect color for this flower.

The paper I used was Canson XL Mix Media paper. It was the thinnest "watercolor" paper I had that would fit through my printer. The 140lb and 100lb watercolor papers I have were too thick for my Canon PIMXA.  So, while coloring, I made sure I didn't add a lot of water or over saturate one area too much since I was using a thinner medium.

After my Cameo cut out the image, I attached it to a piece of white fun foam to pop it up off my card base. I knew I wanted an "artsty" looking background so I created a splattered effect with Golden Fluid Acrylic paint in Gold Iridescent Deep (Fine) and black acrylic paint. Then added some sparkly gold sequins to finish it off.

The sentiment comes from the Latte Love stamp set by Fiskars. I also used the Big Thanks stamp and die set from Simon Says Stamp. The word "Thanks" is heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing powder.

I've barely begun to scratch the surface on what this amazing machine can do. I have learned so much from the Silhouette School Blog. Melissa is a brilliant (and super funny) Silhouette super star who has so many helpful tips, tricks, tutorials, and more for using your Silhouette. I am not affiliated with Silhouette School, this is just where I learned a lot about how to use my my machine. I just wanted to share this resource with you. It has helped me tremendously!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I probably sound like a broken record with how many times I give thanks for your support, but each one is truly heartfelt.
