Z-fold Halloween candy card featuring Waffle Flower Crafts

Hey everybody! I'm back with another Halloween card - a really sweet Halloween card! It features the Sweet Tooth stamp and die set by Waffle Flower Crafts. This set was a limited edition set for Simon Say Stamp's STAMPtember event. I used a Z-fold card design that opens up to 12 inches wide to display a cute Halloween scene. Take a look in the video below:

When folded, this card measures slightly smaller than a standard A2 sized card. This is because I wanted to use only one sheet of paper to create the Z-fold. To create it, I scored a 12 x 12 inch piece of black card stock into thirds, creating three 4-inch sections. Then, I trimmed the card stock to 5.5 inches tall and cut on a diagonal across the 12 inch piece. Fold and voilĂ ! A Z-fold card!

The images are stamped with Stampin' Up! Basic Black Archival ink on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper. I chose this paper because the images are colored with Zig Clean Color Real Watercolor Brush Pens. The secret to creating coloring magic with these pens is using the Bristol Smooth paper! Really! If you've struggled with getting a smooth blend with the Zig markers, I highly recommend trying them on Bristol Smooth paper - it makes a world of difference!

I created the night sky background with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Dusty Concord - splattered with a little water. The ink reacts with the water and creates a really cool effect. I then added dots with a black gel pen which, when dried, turned out very, very subtle, but still pretty. And for the stars, I adhered several Iridescent Stars Embellishments by Studio Katia with Ranger Multi Medium Matte adhesive.

I created the foreground with Old Olive card stock by Stampin' Up!, cut with the Hit the Slopes hill die by My Favorite Things. The stitched effect it adds to the hillside is a nice little touch which I carried into the sky by using the crescent moon die from the Stitched Sky die set by Mama Elephant.

The little candies and other elements in this card are adhered with Thin 3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives. They have a slightly thinner profile than traditional foam squares, so you can still add dimension to your project but with less bulk. And the sentiment (from the stamp set) I heat embossed with Ranger Black Sparkle Embossing Powder.

The last detail I decided to add was the "Pull Here" words and arrow. They are from the Push Here stamp set by Lawn Fawn - I thought it would be a cute little touch just to add.

This card is also an entry into the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Starry Night

I am having so much fun creating Halloween cards! Have a good day and thanks for stopping by!
