You know, there's nothing like a good set of coordinating cards, I always say. Well, I don't think I always say that, but I still think it's true! Because once I had my hands on the Simon Says Stamp Frightful Fun stamp set, I knew it was the perfect stamp set to make a coordinating set of cards! The images feature the most adorable critters and creatures and "punny" Halloween sentiments. Here is a set of 4 super, super, super cute, Copic-colored Halloween cards. I hope you like them!
When coloring stamped images with Copic markers, it's important to stamp in a Copic-safe ink. I like using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I also like to make sure that I get a really solid black outline for my coloring, so I use my Mini MISTI Stamping Tool so that I can stamp the image twice.
The coloring for these cards is pretty simple. I love coloring, and each time I do it I learn a little bit more about how to use Copic markers to get the look I'm going for. For most of my Copic marker projects, I like coloring on Neenah Solar White card stock.
I really wanted to keep the card design relatively clean and simple so that the images would really take center stage. To add just a little bit of interest to the background though, I did use the largest die cut from the Honey B Scallop A2 card frames die set. I love this die set! It adds a scallop edge and faux stitching, which I thought was the perfect accent to these cute little creatures.
Sparkling details are always fun, so I sprinkled a few sequins from the Pumpkin Patch Sparkly Shaker Selection and some Ebony Jewels by Little Things from Lucy's Cards. I adhered them to the card with my double-ended jewel picker and Ranger Multi Medium matte.
You may notice that I also add a drop of Morning Dew Nuvo drops to the center of each sequin. I've seen many crafters use this technique. It gives a little more stability to the sequin so you can be more assured that they are adhered securely to the card. Plus, it also adds a little bit more sparkle! And lastly, I popped up the images from the card base on white craft foam.
So which one is your favorite? Tell me in the Comment section below. And thanks for stopping by my blog!
Great work as usual. Really like the sequins and dots, kinda like a cool breeze blowing through.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I love adding sequins and gems to my cards - and I find that I usually arrange them diagonally across the card. I really like it that way!
