Sketch Saturday Challenge #552 with MMedel Illustrations

Welcome to another Sketch Saturday Challenge! What will you create using this week's sketch as inspiration?

Here is the card that I created using the Unique Unicorn digital stamp by this week's sponsor MMedel Illustrations:

Sketch Saturday Challenge #552

This week's sponsor is MMedel Illustrations, and they are offering some fabulous prizes to the winner. To play along in the challenge, take a picture of your project, and link to it on THIS week's Challenge blog post using the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the post.

You have until Friday, March 1st at 7pm (United Kingdom time) to enter. For complete details, please read the Challenge Rules on the Sketch Saturday blog. Good luck and have fun creating!

So I must admit that I think I am really borderline as to adhering to this week's sketch. I would definitely say that this is a loose interpretation of this week's sketch; however, I do think it embodies the "spirit" of the sketch. So I think I'm safe! LOL! 😁😁😁

I colored the image with my Prismacolor Colored pencils. Then I fussy cut her out with my favorite scissors for fussy cutting, my Cutter Bee Scissors. And I love that they come with a sheath so if I need to I could take them on the go with me without worrying about stabbing anyone or anything (including myself!)

The background was created with Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Pink Opal, which is soooo much fun, by the way! I used the Tumbling Hearts stencil by Newton's Nooks on a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock.  Glimmer Paste is super easy to use too - just take a palate knife and smear it over the stencil.

To keep the stencil in place, I sprayed it with a little temporary adhesive. Works great to keep it in place! Once the stencil is covered with the Glimmer Paste, remove it and what's left behind is the gorgeous, sparkly design! I recommend washing the stencil with warm water right after you're done so that the paste doesn't dry on the stencil. It's just a lot harder to remove it from the stencil once its dried on there.

Because I didn't want to cover up these beautiful hearts, I took some liberties with the sketch and turned the rectangle design elements into frames. The oval became a scalloped oval cut from vellum (again so I didn't cover up the background design). Even the sentiment is somewhat "see through" with it being a die cut. I suppose the only "real" stamping I did on this card was the word "Happy" which comes from the Scrapbook.com Handmade Essentials stamp set.

Thank you all so much for stopping by! I hope you're inspired to start crafting, and if you ever need help/ideas, then feel free to reach out to me on Facebook or Instagram.  Have a good weekend!
