Sketch Saturday Challenge #551 with The Paper Nest Dolls

Welcome to another Sketch Saturday Challenge! What will you create using this week's sketch as inspiration?

Here is the card that I created using the Cupcake Avery stamp by this week's sponsor, The Paper Nest Dolls:

This week's sponsor is The Paper Nest Dolls, and they are offering some fabulous prizes to the winner. To play along in the challenge, take a picture of your project, and link to it on THIS week's Challenge blog post using the InLinkz tool at the bottom of the post.

You have until Friday, February 22nd at 7pm (United Kingdom time) to enter. For complete details, please read the Challenge Rules on the Sketch Saturday blog. Good luck and have fun creating!

For this week's card, I kept things super, duper simple as far the embellishments go - which usually isn't my style. However, as soon as I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to make a split-card design that would open up down the middle; and for an idea like that, I thought a clean and simple design would work best.

And I'm really happy with it! I colored Avery with my Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I must still have Valentine's Day on the brain because I unintentionally chose a red and pink color scheme. She just looked like she'd be wearing a cute pink dress!

The sentiment comes from a Stampin' Up! stamp set that I split up so that I could put part on the outside, and part on the inside. The entire thing reads, "Money can't buy happiness... but it can buy cupcakes. And that's kind of the same thing."

For the pull tabs on the left and right, I first cut a small red circle, then stamped the word "Pull" from the "Pull Here" stamp in the Push Here stamp set by Lawn Fawn.

If you create interactive cards, I highly recommend this stamp set. It contains all different action stamps, like "Push," "Pull," "Spin," "Slide," and many, many more! I sometimes like to add these to my interactive cards so that it makes it clear to the recipient how the card is intended to be viewed. Then, I think the card makes the biggest effect.

Well, I hope you liked this week's card for the Sketch Saturday Challenge, and I hope it's inspired you to create something of your own. If you need any help with design ideas, please feel free to message me on Instagram or Facebook.  Have a wonderful day!
