Cute Heart Valentines by Star Stampz

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! Today I'm just doing a real quick card share - a Valentine's Day card I made for my nieces and nephews.  I used the Cute Heart Valentines digital stamp by Star Stampz, the sponsor for this week's Sketch Saturday Challenge. You still have time to enter this week's challenge - click HERE for more info and to see what I created.

I purposely sized the girl to take up the whole A2 sized card. I wanted her to be the card, the whole card! I think she's so adorable and the perfect way for me to say "Happy Valentine's Day" to my family.

I colored her with my Arteza Real Brush Pens on Strathmore Vision Mixed Media paper.  I also had my Silhouette Cameo 3 cut her out for me; I really don't like fussy cutting 😩😩😩!

Here are the Arteza colors I used to color her:

Skin: Pale Skin, Light Skin, & Bubblegum Pink
Hair: Chocolate, Ginger, & Pale Skin
Dress/Clothing: Ice Blue, Red, & Bubblegum Pink
Roses: Bubblegum Pink & Rouge Pink
Large heart: Red
Yellow flowers: Lemon Yellow & Honey
Small hearts: Hot pink
Leaves: Lime Green
Shoes: Ice Blue & Elephant Gray

Also, I created a color swatch chart for the Arteza markers. It's a great tool to help me decide what colors to use. You can download it for free on THIS blog post.

As the last little details, I added some Glitter Clear Wink of Stella into her hair and coated the hearts in a thin layer of Strawberry Coulis and Rose Water Nuvo Jewel Drops. Be aware that there will be color change with the Arteza pens with Nuvo over it. The small "stitched" heart on the large red heart lightened up quite a bit, but I think it turned out ok.

Lastly, I added the "Happy Heart Day" sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Conversation Heart Add-on stamp set. I stamped it with black ink and then heat embossed over it with some Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder.

I popped up the girl up from my card panel with a ton of foam tape. The background is just barely visible from behind the girl, so all I did for that was added a faux stitched border, dry embossing, and some Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink.  Tip: after dry embossing, just lightly apply the ink with an ink blending tool and it will only be picked up on the raised areas, which really makes the design pop.  I decided to use Neenah Desert Storm card stock because I haven't been using it a lot lately, and I think to mix things up! 😜😜😜
