For this card, I stamped several images using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen – this is so that when I colored with my Primsacolor Premier Colored Pencils, it created a "no outline" look.
Antique Linen is perfect for this technique because it is a very soft ink, but any light color of ink would work.
Tips for using colored pencils:
- Make sure your pencil is super sharp (which means you're going to be sharpening often!)
- Colored pencil dust will collect on your paper and can put down color where you don't want it. Use a very soft brush (like a paintbrush) and a light hand to brush away the dust.
- Use the right kind of paper – paper with a good amount of texture to it. I am using Canson Mi-Tientes Pastel Paper Pad White. I've been using this paper for colored pencils ever since I found Kit and Clowder (Alyce Keegan recommended it), and I totally love it!
To add a little bit more to the card, I used a little Wink of Stella in Glitter Clear, Ranger Stickles and ICE Stickles Glitter Glue, and added some details with various colors of Tonic Studios Nuvo drops and Jewel Drops.
I just love how colorful this card turned out! I am definitely drawn to bold and bright colors when it comes to card making. I am also very proud to see my coloring skills improving. I try to find little spare moments in my day to do some coloring. It's both relaxing and productive at the same time, because I can turn my colored images into cards!
