Hello my friends and fellow Tiddly Peeps!! It's time for the Tiddly Inks April challenge and this month we are doing a super fun Showcase challenge!! For this challenge, EVERYONE will use this super sweet image below from the Little Valentines Mermaid set. Christy has very kindly added this super sweet little image to the store FOR FREE, but for a LIMITED TIME ONLY (while April's Challenge is live); you can get the image by clicking HERE.
Here is the project I created with these adorable little mermaids:
What is the Tiddly Inks Challenge?
The Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog is a fun place to hang out and share our love for Tiddly Inks (plus get a chance to win a prize!) New challenges are posted on the blog on the first Tuesday of each month at 12AM CST (Central US time). We choose one winner per challenge to receive $10 worth of Tiddly Inks digital images. Whoo hoo!
Who can participate and how do I enter?
This challenge is open to everyone of all skill levels! To participate, create a new project, snap a pic, then link to it on the current Challenge's blog post (there's a link at the end of the post. Click that link and you can add your picture!).
We love to see any NEW creation (a card, 3D project, journal page, etc.). For this month, YOU MUST USE the provided image from the Little Valentines Mermaid set. This image is available as a free download for a LIMITED TIME ONLY (while April's Challenge is live); you can get the image by clicking HERE.
What do I make?
How long do I have to enter?
Challenges must be entered into by 11:55PM on the Sunday evening before the next challenge begins. The winner is posted with the beginning of each new challenge. I hope you'll come play along with us!
Boy's hair: Chocolate & Ginger
Girl's hair: Orange Rust, Sunset Yellow, & Pale Skin
Octopus: Orchid Purple, Lavendar, & Bubble Bath Pink
Mermaid tails: Green, Lime Green, & Acid Green
Shell (in girl's hair): Ice Blue
Skin: Light Skin, Pale Skin, & Bubble Bath Pink
Gelly Roll pen details: Gelly Roll Classic White 08 & Gelly Roll Stardust Lime Star
I created the background with Distress Oxide inks and little help from pearlescent liquid arcylic ink splatters!
I created the frame around the card by diecutting a large frame time 4 times, then stacking and gluing them all together. This creates a really nice bold, raised frame that sticks out from the card.
And of course a mermaid card wouldn't be complete without some sequins and jewels! I think they look like little bubbles!
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll play along with us over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog. Remember that this month we're all using this couple from the Little Mermaids set. It's available as a FREE download for this month's challenge only - so hurry over and get to work! You can also join us on the Tiddly Inks Facebook group too where we share loads of Tiddly Ink inspiration - so much cuteness and creativity all in one place. Have a great day my friends!
