I printed this image on Canson Mi-Teintes paper which is what I absolutely LOVE for coloring with my colored pencils. The paper is two sided, so for colored pencils I color on the smoother side (the other has a honeycomb-like texture to it). I color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. For this image I also used Gamsol and a paper blending stump to help create the final piece. I don't always use a blending solvent when I color with colored pencils, but it really helped with this one.
My sister and I are always mistaken as twins. I think it's because we're about the same height and both have fair skin, blue eyes, freckles, and bright red hair! And we also both love coffee! I am the older sister though, by two years.
I decided to turn this into a scene card - complete with hardwood floors and large window. Gamsol was very, very helpful for the wood flooring part. After laying down multiple layers of colored pencils, the Gamsol helped to smooth it all together. To create the sentiment, I stamped it in black ink and heat embossed Hero Arts Clear embossing powder over it.
This card definitely took me some time to complete! I just worked on it in little pieces at a time. This was such a fun project to make for my sister. Even though she's my little sister, I look up to her in many ways.
