Holiday Icons card trio

Hello! I have a trio of cards to share today! They all feature the Naughty and Nice Elves stamp set that I've had since July from the Christmas in July event with Simon Says Stamp. See the first card I made with them HERE.  Since then, Simon has released a coordinating dies set. WOOHOO! I love coordinating dies! They make it super fast and easy to assemble cards like the ones I made with these adorable elves!

I paired these elves with the Holiday Icons background stamp from Simon, and I don't think I could love these cards even more! These Holiday icons remind me of emojis, and I love using emojis! 😀😜😚

I first started with heat embossing the background for each of these cards. I used Gold, Silver, and White embossing powder, respectively. The background stamp is too big for my Mini MISITI so I used it in my Tim Holtz Stamping Platform. I put a little bit of repositionable adhesive on the back of a card panel to keep it in place while I stamped in Versamark ink.

Since the adhesive is temporary, after stamping, I can peel the panel right up and apply the embossing powder. Before stamping though I generously applied anti static powder by EK Success because I've found this really helps reduce the likelyhood that the powder will stick anywhere else except the inked areas.

After the panel has completely cooled, I trimmed just a little bit off each side so that they card base would create a small border around each edge.

These cute little elves I colored with Copic markers. Below is a list of the colors that I used:

Red - R29
Greens - G07 (dark green) & YG 13 (light green)
Brown (reindeer and hair) - E23 & E29
Skin tones - E11, E00, E0000, & R20 (for rosy cheeks)
Grays and shading - N0, N2, N4, N6, & N8
Blonde hair - E81
Cookie jar/stool - YR 20, YR23, & Y27
Yellow - Y13

I also stamped a banner and sentiment from the stamp set. I stamped all the images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink because I Copic colored them, and Memento is a Copic-safe ink. I gave the banner a little shading with the Copic colors: N0, N2, & N4. And now that I have the coordinating dies, it was super fast and easy to cut out the stamped banner.

Each little elf sat atop a vellum stitched oval, but I embellished each card slightly differently to make each card special.

These three cards actually came together pretty quickly, and I think they turned out pretty fun! Below is a list of supplies I used to create the cards:
